Mal Hewitt tells his story about transforming a large underprivileged high school in southwestern Sydney. Starting with a campaign to acquire musical instruments, it developed a great musical culture with its own performances, inspired students with bad attendance records to never miss a day and the whole community to develop a passion for music and other arts, and how many students continued to university and conservatorium.
It is a wonderful and inspiring story, which can be read in full on the Music Trust guest blog. Highly recommended.
