The Australian government mounted a review of the quality of Initial Teacher Education. Broadly it looked at issues around selection of students of teacher education and then, aspects of their subsequent education. The NAAE submission to the review noted the research showing the benefits of arts education both to the development of arts appreciation and art-making skills and to progress in key non-arts subjects and to increasingly valued skills in creativity and innovation.
